Boutique hotel style at the #goldengirlscondo

When we first looked at the #goldengirlscondo, one of our favorite things about the unit was the layout. Reminiscent of a hotel suite, the two bedrooms and bathrooms were situated on opposite sides of the main living area, which offered privacy and made the unit feel spacious.

The primary bedroom was located just off the kitchen. Our updates in this room were entirely cosmetic. We removed the old bookshelves and replaced them with a minimalist ledge made of Baltic birch plywood. We switched out the two individual closet doors for a set of modern double doors and added an Elfa system from The Container Store. As with the rest of the unit, fresh white paint and white epoxy floors made the room feel bright and airy. We had fun with the styling for this bedroom, incorporating an Art Deco style metal bed, rattan end table, and lots of brightly colored and patterned textiles.

The ensuite bathroom originally had a tub/shower combo and a linen closet that made the space feel cramped. We ended up removing the closet to make the space more accessible and opted to replace the tub with a large walk-in shower. We used a bold coral pink starburst cement tile for the walls and paired it with a white terrazzo-inspired floor tile. As much as we admired the original mid-century vanity, it was rusted beyond repair, so we switched it out for a wood floating vanity. Gold plumbing fixtures, an arched mirror, and a simple globe sconce provided the finishing touches in this bathroom.

With this primary bedroom and bathroom, we strived to create a luxurious suite that felt like you were on vacation every day!
